Susan Buckley is an experienced Psychologist, Counsellor, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and Regulation 7 Family Report Writer. With more than twenty years experience in private, community and government organisations, she has been preparing Family Reports in the family law area to assist parents, legal practitioners and the Court implement appropriate post separation parenting arrangements for children.

A graduate from Melbourne University with a Masters in Psychology (Counselling) from Latrobe University, her interest in child development, couples counselling and dispute resolution drew her to the Family Law area in 2000. Sue is passionate about helping people separate with integrity, to maintain a focus on their children and moving forward with confidence and dignity.

Sue works in a respectful, direct and compassionate manner. She is able to cater for urgent reports and negotiate a fast turnaround time.

Family Dispute Resolution

Sue is a registered FDR practitioner with experience assisting and guiding separated parents and other significant adults negotiate appropriate child/children arrangements. Sue has worked extensively with children in an inclusive and child friendly manner.


Sue is an experienced clinician who has worked as a generalist counsellor for many years. She is passionate about all issues pertaining to children, couples and families. Sue has considerable expertise helping couples and families in distress. She combines her training in family therapy and relationship counselling to help couples and families manage the family dynamics. Sue has experience in helping adults deal with depression, anxiety, trauma and a range of health problems. Her treatment approach is eclectic and client focussed. Sue uses a range of strategies including CBT, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness to assist clients achieve a sense of purpose and wellbeing.

Franco is an experienced Family Consultant and Specialist Family Report Writer.

From his many prior years employed as a Counsellor (Family Consultant) at the Family Court (almost from its inception) and at the Federal Magistrates Court (now the Federal Circuit Court), Franco gained extensive experience in report preparation and cross examination.

After leaving the Court, he worked for some time at a Family Relationship Centre where he gained considerable experience in counselling couples, families and children.

He is well-known and well-respected amongst the legal profession & now consults exclusively in private practice.
Franco’s areas of interest include relocation, transcultural and transgender matters, grandparental roles and shared parenting. He is mindful of the stressful and difficult time parents and children can go through both prior to and following a separation. He brings a gentle, compassionate and caring approach to all his areas of work.
